A fabulous 19th century French etabli or carpenter's workbench hand constructed in Southwestern France Bordeaux area. Top plank is 3 inches thick. The surface of this rustic carpenter's workbench has tool holes built into the thick wood slab top, various and sundry tool marks from the many projects completed over decades of use, and a great patina. It features the original steel vice, a lower tray for holding a craftsman's tools and implements, and traditional tenon and mortise construction. This particular workbench includes a unique large iron tool used to hold items in place. Whether used as a console, sofa table, or bar, this sturdy workbench will withstand everyday use with ease and is sure to be a focal point.
